Koochbihar: With the Lok Sabha elections approaching, the political stir in the country has intensified once again regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). In fact, after Union Minister Shantanu Thakur’s threat to implement CAA within a week, West Bengal Chief Minister Banerjee’s big statement has come out. Mamata Banerjee has said on Minister Shantanu Thakur’s threat to implement CAA that it is all for politics.
Mamata Banerjee said from the stage during her speech in Behar on Monday that the BJP’s campaign on CAA is actually vote politics. Mamata Banerjee said from the meeting of Behar that who started the movement in Bengal that NRC will not happen! I say to all the people of the state that you all are citizens. Those who say these things are actually doing vote politics.
However, the CM of West Bengal also told the people how the Border Guard Force (BSF) is trying to issue separate identity cards at the border. The BSF is issuing a separate identity card for entering the border area. The CM cautioned the people that none of you will take this card. When they give the card, tell them, ‘We have ration card, we have Aadhaar, I will not take this number card of yours.
Mamata Banerjee warned people that if they take the card, they will come under the purview of NRC. This is not the first time that Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly said that people are being misled about NRC and CAA. He also said that those who receive all civil services do not need separate citizenship, they are all citizens.
The chief minister has already said that the BJP is actually trying to divide in the name of granting citizenship and that is why she will not allow the CAA to be implemented in West Bengal. Late Sunday evening, BJP leader Shantanu Thakur said in a meeting in South 24 Parganas that the Ram temple had been inaugurated. And in the next seven days, CAA will be implemented in India.
